Папоротник "заячьи лапки" или даваллия произрастает на Канарских островах, в Марокко и на Пиринейском полуострове. Такое название растению дали его пушистые воздушные корни, похожие на лапки зайца. Этот папоротник известен и популярен во всем мире. Японцы часто связывают пушистые корневища в пучки, придавая им форму тела обезьянки и прикрепляют фарфоровые обезьяньи головки. Такие поделки продают как сувениры. Их можно повесить в оранжереt или зимнем саду и поливать, в результате чего на каждой такой "обезьянке" появятся зеленые листья.

Даваллия - один из любимых растений дизайнеров-флористов, особенно декоративный эффект этого растения достигается при подвешивании горшка. При отрастании корней даваллии, растение становится похожим на паука. В зимних садах, застекленных витринах, оранжереях, где даваллию можно подвесить (как орхидею) растение смотрится особенно эффектно, его можно посадить в скорлупу кокосового ореха или прорастить на куске коры.
